ST. LOUIS (KMOX) — It’s official, the St. Louis area won’t be getting a new casino.
The Missouri Gaming Commission awarded Isle of Capri casinos the state’s 13th and final casino license.
The company plans to build a $125 million gaming facility in Cape Girardeau.
Isle’s plan had been the favorite coming into Wednesday’s meeting, after a market study found that the Cape location would create the most jobs and generate the most new state tax revenue.
Other proposed locations were north St. Louis and Sugar Creek, near Kansas City.
