Body of missing woman may be tied to murder-suicide
BONNE TERRE, Mo. (KMOX) – The death toll connected to yesterday’s murder suicide in southeast Missouri may have grown to five.
The Daily Journal newspaper reports that the discovery last night of the remains of a missing Bismark woman may be tied to the shooting at a Bonne Terre duplex, which took the lives of two other women and a man. The gunman later killed himself as police closed in.
The killer’s name and the names of the other victims are expected to be released today. Police Chief Douglas Calvert says all of the dead were adults in their 20s. Two young children, ages two-or-three, were found unharmed near adults who had been shot and are now in state custody.
The missing person in the other case – 19-year-old Erica Wade – hadn’t been seen since Monday. Police found her body Tuesday night on Doc Wallen Road in Washington County. According to the newspaper’s account, there is speculation that one of the Bonne Terre shooting victims had earlier helped police locate Wade’s body.
