JEFFERSON CITY, Mo (KMOX) — Missouri’s State Auditor, Susan Montee, released Wednesday an audit on the Missouri Technology Corporation, reporting several conflict of interests and misuse of money among the group’s board members.
Montee said the audit was a very difficult and unpleasant experience and claims the MTC Executive Director politically threatened her staff during the recent campaign season.
As a result, Montee said she held the release of the audit until now.
“I did not want to have a big discussion over MTC in the election because I think the findings inside the audit report are so important,” Montee said. “I did not want the findings to be overshadowed.”
The audit found several issues, involving conflict of interest, misuse of money and failure to secure investments in technology-based companies.
