Amtrak cover features Gateway City
ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – St. Louis is on the cover of one of the “best-read” magazines in America—the new Amtrak passenger train timetable.
The national schedule book for Fall 2010 and Winter 2011 has as its cover a photo of an Amtrak train to Chicago that’s just crossed the MacArthur Bridge downtown and is heading north on the east side of the river. The Gateway Arch and the downtown skyline are in the background.
The national timetable lists all of Amtrak’s trains around the country and will be in effect for six months. It’s also on the internet at Amtrak.com.
This is the first time St. Louis and the Arch have made the cover. Amtrak spokesmen say St. Louis was chosen in part because travel by train in and out of St. Louis on Amtrak has seen some of the greatest growth in the nation.
