ST. LOUIS, MO (KMOX)-Charges have been filed against a suspect in Sunday’s night’s St. Louis drag racing accident that critically injured a 17-year-old girl.
19-year-old Trenton Pinckard of the 20 block of South Meadow in Glen Carbon was allegedly driving the pickup that ran over the girl, after a car hit her, knocking her to the ground.
Pinckard is charged with leaving the scene of an accident, and is being held on $50,000 dollars cash only bond.
A second suspect is in custody. Police say the 19 year old was driving a gray Mitsubishi Eclipse in the drag race.
We will update you further once investigators present the case to the Circuit Attorney’s Office for warrants.
Investigators say the girl was acting as a ‘flag girl’ to signal the start of the race in the 1400 block of Collins.
She remains in critical condition at a local hospital.
