SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) — Kyle Weems scored 26 points and Will Creekmore added 20 as Missouri State defeated Saint Louis 81-65 Saturday night.
Weems scored at least 20 points for the third straight game, and Nafis Ricks had 14 for the Bears (7-3), who have won 14 straight at home.
Jordair Jett scored 18 points to lead the Billikens (4-5), who have lost three of four.
Missouri State took a 38-26 lead into halftime, but Saint Louis kept the game close until the final minutes. Weems scored seven straight points for the Bears to give them a 64-51 lead with 4:58 to play. After the Billikens pulled to within 10, Creekmore hit two free throws and converted a three-point play for a 71-56 advantage with 3:09 remaining.
Missouri State pushed its lead to 18 in the final minute.
Saint Louis took a 2-0 lead on a layup but never led again.
