COLUMBIA, MO (KMOX) — Monday night on “Missouri Tiger Talk”, play-by-play broadcaster Mike Kelly announced that point guard Michael Dixon Jr. will play against No. 21 Illinois on Wednesday night at Scottrade Center for the annual Braggin’ Rights game.  The end of the sophomore starter’s suspension comes at good time for the Tigers as they were  in need of a point guard after backup freshman Phil Pressey broke his finger in practice on Sunday.

Dixon, who had been suspended since Decemeber 15, missed games against Oral Roberts and Central Arkansas.  His status for the Illinois game was in question until today.

One of two players to start the first nine games, Dixon is averaging 10.7 points and a team-leading 4.3 assists.
