GRAFTON, Ill. (AP) — A Mississippi River ferry service that has linked southwestern Illinois’ Jersey County to Missouri’s St. Charles County for the past eight years apparently is no more.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the ferry’s owners have sold their boats and docks to Calhoun Ferry Co., which operates the Golden Eagle and Winfield ferries. That’s according to Denise Knight, who is office manager for Calhoun Ferry Co., a company owned by her father and uncle.
Knight says the sale was finalized.
She says the items were bought to back up the Golden Eagle and Winfield ferry operations.
