Dog hit with pellet, family creates web site

CROCKER, Mo. (KMOX) – Owners have established a website to explain the story and take donations.

Christmas morning was supposed to be a quiet day for Amie King and her family at mom’s home in Crocker, Missouri.

It was not.  Their dog Lily was shot, allegedly by a neighbor with a pellet gun.  Amie says her husband was outside with the yellow lab retreiver when he heard the shot.

“When he looked up he saw the shooter who had ducked behind a vehicle” said King.

Pulaski County Sheriff’s officials ticketed the man,  but Amie wants additional charges.

“We would like this matter prosecuted to the fullest extent with the maximum penalty and we will be moving forward with that” King told KMOX’s Mark Reardon.

Lily is recovering after being treated at a clinic in Springfield, Missouri.

King and her husband have set up a web site to explain what happened and take donations:

I’m so sorry to hear about Lily. I’m so glad she is recovering. I raise Great Danes and have several rescue dogs as well. Our property should be a safe place for our animals. Taking a shot at an animal in a yard with it’s people nearby is wrong.

Not only should the man be ticketed but he should be arrested for endangering human life as well as an unprovoked attach on a dog. What if a person moved into the line of fire as he pulled the trigger? Sheesh.

Not only would I pressure the officials to arrest him but he should be made to pay for all medical costs incurred for Lily.

Do keep us posted. Give a hug to Lily.
