JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMOX) — The tragic shooting in Arizona has brought a new focus on safety to some elected officials here in the capitol.
Missouri Senator Mike Kehoe says a shooting like this is particularly personal to him and his family.
“It brings that much closer to home,” Kehoe said. “You’re always kind of watching and trying to figure out how to go out and meet with people but also make sure you’re protecting your safety and the safety of your family and your other constituents around you.”
Democratic House Leader Mike Talboy says this shooting may lead to a better tone from legislatures during debate.
