ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – An update on the supposed vehicular assault on a police officer that occured last hour.

Police spokeswoman Erika Van Ross says an officer was not injured in an exchange with suspects and that all shots were fired by police.

Van Ross says suspects in a red Dodge Charger attempted to ram a squad car and that one pulled a gun. Police retaliated by firing three shots, hitting the windshield of the Charger.

Police followed the suspects but lost them at Delmar and Hanley. Another squad car then spotted the vehicle as it ran a series of red lights on Hampton. The suspects were then able to elude the second squad car on I-44 and remain on the run at this time.
