ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - St. Louis city police say alcohol or drugs may have been involved in a weekend car crash that killed a pedestrian.
It happened around eight, Saturday night, near the corner of Goodfellow and Natural Bridge.
Officers say the car knocked down a metal fence, a wooden fence, and a metal pole before landing on a sidewalk and striking 45-year-old Lazarus Britton of St. Louis.
Britton died at the scene.
Police say they took the 19-year-old driver of the car into custody and are seeking charges against him.
Of the three passengers in the car, one suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
