ST. LOUIS (KMOX)-Washington Avenue’s troubled “Lure” nightclub is no more.

A judge has ruled that the petition signed by 52 neighbors seeking to have the club’s liquor license revoked, is valid.

Downtown resident Matt O’Leary says his neighborhood is thrilled, “We had come to the conclusion that Lure was a detriment to the neighborhood. We banded together and pushed forward with the city’s process and we’re glad that our efforts were vindicated.”

O’Leary says the behavior of Lure patrons and owners has been far worse than those at other clubs, and while other club owners had agreed to work to improve the situation, Lure’s did not.

O’Leary hopes the move sends a message to club owners, “That is the hope, that people who don’t intend to run a respectful  business and cooperate with the neighborhood will choose to locate elsewhere.”

Owners of the club, which is now operating under the name “Amnesia” have 30 days to appeal.
