Illinois State Police Say Get Off The Road Overnight

Megan Lynch

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Hours of sleet have made Illinois roads a mess. Now state police are bracing for what’s next.

Trooper Mike Link says motorists need to be off the roads overnight.

“Especially if we do get these blizzard conditions, when it is white-out, with the headlights on and the snow coming down you can hardly see ten feet in front of your car,” Link said.  “It is very dangerous.”

Link says if you’re on the highway now get some place safe and plan to stay overnight.
