Missouri AG Seeks Tougher Domestic Violence Laws

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) –  Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster plans a series of news conferences to discuss his plans to strengthen the state’s domestic violence protections.

His office says in a news release that it has been 30 years since the state set up its framework for domestic violence laws.

Now, Koster is recommending major changes to Missouri law to better protect victims.

The announcement comes after Koster conducted three meetings across the state last fall to gather information about flaws in the state’s domestic violence laws and system.

Koster plans news conferences Tuesday in Kansas City, St. Louis and Jefferson City.
