2011 St. Louis Boat & Sportshow Sets Sail
ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - With economic skies brightening overhead, the 57th St. Louis Boat & Sportshow kicks off Wednesday at America’s Center and Edward Jones Dome.
“We’re regaining strength from the takedown of the recession,” insists Mark Adams, Vice President of NMMA Sportshows. “We’re probably going to have 15% more boats than last year.”
Besides the hundreds of boats and accessories on display, highlights of the Boat Show will include the popular Dock Dogs competition, boating and outdoor classes, an archery room, and an appearance by “Deadliest Catch” star Russell Newberry.
And for those who wonder if they can afford a new boat in this economy, Adams asks: Can you really afford not to get one?
“How many summers do you have left with your kids?,” he asks. “And when you put it in those terms it’s like, ‘Okay, how easy can I get into this’? And the answer is…there’s a boat for everyone’s budget and everyone’s needs.”
The 57th annual St. Louis Boat & Sportshow gets underway at 5 pm Wednesday, Feb. 9 and runs through Sunday evening at America’s Center.
