WINFIELD, Mo. (AP) — Two people are dead and two seriously injured after a man went on a shooting spree in eastern Missouri’s Lincoln County.
Jeff Wilson of the Missouri State Highway Patrol says 55-year-old Garey Fain of rural Foley shot his roommate, 55-year-old Earl Wayne Bender, late Wednesday, then drove to the home of his ex-wife in Winfield and forced his way in.
Wilson says Fain shot 24-year-old Joseph Michael Klos, then went into the bedroom and shot his ex-wife, 33-year-old Liza Fain.
Garey Fain was confronted by police outside the home. Wilson says Fain raised his weapon toward police, and the officer shot him.
Fain and his ex-wife died. Bender and Klos are hospitalized in serious condition.
Wilson says three young children were in Liza Fain’s home at the time of the shootings.
