Man Robs Armored Car at Gunpoint; Arrested Short Time Later

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) –  A robbery suspect didn’t have long to enjoy his ill-gotten gains from an armored car holdup.

Police say a man approached two guards as they were leaving the Shop ‘n Save on Chippewa in south St. Louis around 1:30 Wednesday afternoon.

He pulled out a gun and ordered them to turn over the bags of cash they were carrying.

The suspect ran off but about two hours later police arrested a 45-year-old man in the 4900 block of Pernod, and recovered a handgun and some cash from the armed robbery.

There’s no word on how much money was taken during the holdup.
