ST. LOUIS (KMOX) __ Ameren predicts its current rates in Missouri will stand, despite a judge’s ruling that the rates go back to 2007 levels. Ameren Missouri has filed papers with the Securities and Exchange Commission, claiming the rollback would cost the utility 300 million dollars.
A Cole County judge ordered the rollback after large corporations filed suit to block two rate increases the Public Service Commission approved for Ameren in 2009. The first increase raised rates eight percent, giving Ameren a $163 million increase. Later that year the PSC approved another ten percent increase, giving the utility another $226 million.
