Gov. Asks for Disaster Declaration for Record Snowstorm

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMOX) – Governor Nixon is asking President Obama to declare the late January snowstorm a “major disaster” in more than 5 dozen Missouri counties.

The storm that stretched over two days left nearly two feet of snow in some spots and closed two major interstates.

Nixon says the disaster declaration would help communities recover the cost of emergency measures and snow removal.
