Community Service For Teen Convicted of Sexual Assault

O’FALLON, Ill. (AP) –  A Metro East teenager accused of sexually assaulting a pair of girls during an underage drinking party will receive community service and required counseling now that he’s pleaded guilty to reckless conduct.

St. Clair County State’s Attorney Brendan Kelly told the Belleville News-Democrat that the now 17-year-old boy pleaded
guilty Tuesday in juvenile court.

His name wasn’t publicly released.

Kelly says the victims’ parents and O’Fallon’s police chief agreed that the sentence was appropriate.

Kelly says he couldn’t discuss whether another boy suspected in the case related to a party last June would be charged or if he also was expected to reach a plea deal.
