ST. LOUIS (KMOX)-It appears the area’s tornado sirens passed today’s Severe Weather Drill test.
St. Louis City officials won’t know for sure until tomorrow, but say so far it appears all of their 60 sirens worked. St. Charles County officials say they’ve had no reports of problems with the 119 sirens there, including those in the various municipalities. We’re waiting for the report from St. Louis County.
Meanwhile, in the wake of the recent storms, it appears more people are taking the sirens seriously.
Some area residents KMOX talked to downtown during Thursday’s test, say they used to ignore the sirens, but now when they hear them they head to the basement. But others say that when they hear the sirens, they just think it’s another test.
