Text 90999 to Help Earthquake Victims in Japan

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — Remember those text messages you could send to donate money to Haiti? Well… they’re back.

The American Red Cross says you can donate 10-dollars to relief efforts in the Pacific by texting the words “Red Cross” to 90999.

“This is a very large disaster, and it will take people helping people all around the world to help communities recover,” Red Cross spokeswoman Jessica Willingham said.

Willingham says that it’s too soon to set fundraising goals, but that the national Red Cross is working with the Japanese Red Cross in assessing the damage.
