VIERA, Fla. (AP) — Jamie Garcia pitched four effective innings, drove in two runs and scored on a wild pitch, leading the St. Louis Carindals to a 10-4 victory over the Washington Nationals on Friday.

Garcia allowed two runs and five hits, walked two and struck out one. He also had an RBI single and an RBI groundout in two at-bats.

Nationals starter Jordan Zimmermann was hit hard, giving up six runs and eight hits in four innings. He walked two and threw two wild pitches. Drew Storen also had a rocky outing, giving up three runs on four hits with a walk in one inning.

Adam LaRoche had three singles and three RBIs, and Jayson Werth added a double, walked twice, drove in a run and scored a run for Washington.
