ST. LOUIS (KMOX) -St. Louis Police Department spokeswoman Erica Van Ross says the department has activated its special Violent Offense Team. 

She says the team’s goal is to develop evidence against suspects involved in an ongoing dispute, “There may be multiple shootings that are all connected to one another, due to in-fighting amongst this group.”

Van Ross says the best way to give anonymous tips is through the Crimestoppers hotline at 1-866-371-TIPS, “We really, really need witness cooperation to help put a lid on what’s happening in our community.”

Van Ross says the shootings are not believed to be gang-related.
