Daniel Hughes
CLAYTON, Mo. (KMOX) — The family of a 9-year-old girl who was allegedly molested at the Ritz-Carlton earlier this month has filed a lawsuit in St. Louis County circuit court.
It names as defendants the hotel and its owner, along with 42-year-old Daniel Hughes, a Pennsylvania man who reportedly crawled into the girl’s bed early on the morning of March 6th.
Hughes was said to be intoxicated and had been mistakenly handed the room key by a front desk clerk after claiming he had lost his.
Investigators later determined that Hughes had been referring to a room at another hotel where he had been staying earlier that week while in town for a conference.
The suit seeks at least 5-Million dollars in damages from each of the defendants — the hotel, its owner, Hughes himself and his employer, Enterprise Leasing.
Court papers did not identify the girl or her family, referring to her as “Jane Doe”.
