Grandmother Killed in East St. Louis Carjacking

EAST ST. LOUIS, IL. (KMOX) – The Major Case Squad says it has completed it’s investigation into the death of Gladys Cockrell who’d body was found in Centreville.

Investigators now say Cockrell was shot while sitting in her car at 30th and Bond in East St. Louis and her body later dumped  in Centreville.

They’ve also concluded from evidence found in her car and witness information that Cortez Hamm was the person who shot her and that robbery and hijacking are believed to be the motive.

Hamm was shot and killed by officers.

    I dont think he did tht by his self i think its more to the story then wht they said and just gave up on a good kid he was druged up first of all an tht was his aunt whos to say he did tht all by himself an y did the police over killed him an they was train to shoot i say the fam need to sue the hell out of them rest in peace young man
