ST. LOUIS (KMOX) -  US News and World Report is out with a new listing of America’s best hospitals, this time focusing just on those in metropolitan areas.  

The St. Louis area’s top five hospitals, according to this survey:  Barnes Jewish, St. Louis University, Missouri Baptist, Christian Hospital and SSM DePaul Health Center. 

Numbers six through ten include SSM St. Joseph, SSM St. Mary’s Health centers, St. John’s Mercy, St. Luke’s, and SSM St. Joseph’s Hospital West.

Across the river Anderson Hospital in Maryville and Memorial Hospital in Belleville are tied at 12th.

To compile this list, US News and World Report looked at hospitals within all 52 U.S. Metro Areas with populations of more than 1 million.
