ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – A man has died of injuries sustained in a one-car crash early Wednesday in north St. Louis.

The unidentified man was driving north on Goodfellow at a high rate of speed.

While trying to pass another car, the victim lost control and smashed into the front porch of a home in the 5900 block of Goodfellow.

The driver was conscious and talking when the home’s occupant came outside following the 5:20 am crash, but later died at a local hospital.

Police say the driver had no ID on him, but was not the registered owner of the Ford Fusion.

A police accident reconstruction team is working the case, and trying to locate the owner of the car.
