Meteorologist: Keep An Eye On The Sky Tonight

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – There’s a possibility of severe weather coming our our way late this afternoon or this evening.

A tornado swept through the small western Iowa town of Mapleton, last night. Many buildings and a grain elevator were destroyed.

National Weather Service meteorologist Josh Boustead in Omaha says people in the Mississippi Valley should keep an eye to the sky, today.

“These will be particularly fast-moving storms,” he said. “So the amount of time they’ll have to react as the storm nears their area will be shorter than normal.”

Boustead says this is the type of day Weather Alert Radios are made for.
