ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - If you put off filing your taxes, tonight at midnight is the deadline. But don’t expect area post offices to be open late.
St. Louis U.S. Postal Service spokeswoman Valerie Hughes says they will be operating on a normal schedule. “We will not be opening late, as in years past for last minute mailers,” Hughes said.
But there is an 11th hour silver lining, of sorts. “The postal service will have employees out front of the main post office in downtown St. Louis on Market Street to take in those drive-by last minute claims that people mail,” explains Hughes (for map of USPS St. Louis Downtown location, click here).
But remember make sure you already have the postage on your envelopes because the walk-up windows at the Main Post Office will close at 8 p.m.
