ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Investigators are on the scene of this morning’s house fire in North St. Louis, where two first responders were hurt when the floor of the residence gave way.

City Fire Department Captain Dan Sutter tells KMOX they want to know who had been in the home last and whether that person may have sparked the blaze. “It appeared that someone had been in there recently,” Sutter said. “But it’s not known at this time whether someone is living there today or whether the home has sat vacant.”

The fire at the home in the 52-hundred block of Saint Louis Avenue (map) was quickly brought under control.

The firefighters were treated on the scene for cuts and bruises.
