Train Derails at Hannibal, Causes Big Mess

HANNIBAL, Mo. (AP) — No injuries are reported, but a train derailment at Hannibal causes a big mess.

The train went off the tracks Tuesday near Continental Cement just south of Hannibal. KHQA-TV reports that at least 20 cars derailed and were on their side, some spilling grain.

It wasn’t immediately clear where the train came from, or where it was heading.

The force of the derailment threw dirt onto Route 79, causing some traffic delays.
