Fire in Rolla: 1 Dead, 2 Missing

ROLLA, Mo. (AP) — One person is dead and two are missing after a fire at a group home near the south-central Missouri town of Rolla.

The fire was reported around 9 a.m. Wednesday about two miles south of Rolla, and the home was fully engulfed in flames by the time firefighters arrived.

KOLR-TV reports that Phelps County Sheriff Richard Lisenbe says the dead and missing are a woman, a 10-year-old girl and an infant, but he did not specific which of the three was confirmed dead.

Lisenbe characterized the site as a foster home that housed a large number of children. It wasn’t immediately clear how many people were in the home when the fire broke out, or if anyone else was injured.
