Illinois State Fair Music Line-up Released

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — Lady Antebellum, 38 Special and MC Hammer are among the acts playing on the Illinois State Fair Grandstand this summer.

Fair Manager Amy Bliefnick says the line-up includes something for everyone.

Ventriloquist and stand-up comedian Jeff Dunham will also perform. Other acts include Boyz II Men, the Oak Ridge Boys, the Illinois Symphony Orchestra and 3 Doors Down.

The theme of this year’s fair is “We’ve Got a Good Thing Growing!” The fair runs August 12-21.

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (IRN) — Country music and the rock of the 1980s will again play in abundance at the Illinois State Fair.

Entertainment to be  announced Thursday at the fairgrounds is expected to  included the Oak Ridge Boys, Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers Band, the Tubes, .38 Special, and April Wine, all according to the web site www.pollstar.com.

Music elsewhere will include what is billed as “The Ultimate Michael Jackson Tribute Band.” The web site for “Who’s Bad” promotes it will be on the Coors Light stage during two days of the fair, which runs Aug. 12-21.

At least one act will represent the 21st Century. Country artist Chris Young is booked for Sunday, August 14, according to another web site, www.songkick.com.

The state contracts with a Kentucky-based agent, Triangle Talent, for more than $1 million – including the performers’ fees – to book the acts.
