COLLINSVILLE, Ill. (KMOX) — A former Boy Scout leader accused of molesting two children in the Metro-East is out of jail and on a monitoring system.
A judge lowered 53-year-old Jon Demers’ bond from $1,350,000 and he posted the required amount on Thursday.
The Belleville News Democrat reports the Collinsville man is to have no contact with his alleged victims.
Demers is charged with 16 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
Neither prosecutors nor police have said any of the counts relate to his volunteer work with a Belleville-based Scout troop.
