BREESE, Ill. (AP/KMOX) — Authorities in southwestern Illinois near the town of Breese say they continue to search for a 75-year-old man despite earlier reports that the search had been called off.
Investigators in Clinton County say Vincent Wesselmann was last spotted about 11 a.m. Friday near the Breese Grain Co.
Breese police Officer Curt Weh told the Belleville News-Democrat that investigators exhausted every lead as to his possible whereabouts before calling off the search Sunday afternoon. However, later reports indicate that the stoppage was merely temporary and that the search continues.
Weh says Wesselmann was not known to have any medical conditions or other problems that could explain his disappearance.
Wesselmann was last seen wearing dark blue pants, a shirt and a dark-blue baseball cap.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Breese police or the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department.
