St. Louis Arc’s Capable Kids and Families
Last year, as part of the KMOX Cares project, Charlie Brennan raised money for St. Louis Arc’s Capable Kids and Families, which provides children (ages 0-6) and families with developmentally appropriate toys and therapeutic equipment free-of-charge. Some of this equipment can be quite cost-prohibitive. Capable Kids and Families allows parents to check out items free of charge and keep them as long as they are needed.
To raise the money, Charlie held an on-air auction for ten days. With the money raised, Capable Kids and Families has done a lot of research and worked to find the best possible toys and adaptive equipment which would compliment their playroom and help the children they support.
The room has since filled up with posture wedges, bead blocks, scaled to size household items and lots more. All of these things will help benefit the kids they support as they work with them to achieve their developmental goals.Â
Thanks again to everyone who parcipated in this KMOX Cares project!
