ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – A woman remains hospitalized in critical condition after she was struck by a car Wednesday night.
The 21-year-old victim was one of the mourners who had gathered at the intersection of Riverview and Thekla in memory of a man who was fatally shot over the weekend.
St. Louis police give this account: a candlelight vigil was underway just before 8 pm when two Camaros drove past.
They circled around to drive by again when someone in the crowd began firing shots at the cars.
The injured woman was trying to flee the scene when she was hit by one of the Camaros.
Two people in that Camaro were questioned but not charged.
However, city police are searching for a third person who fled the scene who they’re calling a “person of interest”.
The candlelight vigil was for 24-year-old Michael Pankins, who was gunned down Sunday evening.
