Sisters Die in Car Crash in O’Fallon

O’FALLON, Ill. (AP) — Authorities say twin 71-year-old sisters are dead after a two-vehicle crash in southwestern Illinois.

O’Fallon Police Chief John Betten says a truck struck a car Thursday afternoon in O’Fallon. Betten says the two women in the car were killed instantly in the crash. The driver of the truck, a male, was injured.

St. Clair Deputy Coroner Dan Haskenhoff tells The (Belleville) News-Democrat that the women’s identities haven’t been confirmed, but they were twin 71-year-old sisters.

It’s unclear what caused the crash and authorities are investigating.
