ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Despite signs that the economy’s continuing to ease its way out of the Recession, new reports out this week indicate the U.S. housing crisis will drag on for several more years.
With that in mind, hundreds of area homeowners are expected to head up to north county Wednesday and Thursday.
Russ Cross is regional servicing director with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, which is hosting a Home Preservation Workshop for local residents at the Renaissance St. Louis Airport Hotel in the Concourse Ballroom.
“To meet face-to-face with a home mortgage specialist,” Cross tells KMOX News, “tell their story, explain their situation, to allow us an opportunity to keep them in their home.”
2,800 St. Louis-area residents have been invited to attend.
Wells Fargo has set up appointments, but walk-ins are welcome.
Still, registration is strongly recommended in order to guarantee a customer’s ability to meet with a mortgage representative.
That number is 1-800-405-8067.
The event takes place at the St. Louis Airport Renaissance on Wed. May 11th and Thurs. May 12th, 9 am to 5 pm each day.
Cross says in past events about half of the customers who attended were able to receive a decision on a loan modification or other mortgage option on-site, or shortly after the workshop.
