Escalade, Tractor Up for Auction After Owner Convicted on Fraud Charges

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — A Cadillac Escalade, a Kenworth tractor, and a backhoe…

Just some of the items federal agents seized recently from the home of 49-year-old Michael Collins of Swansea, and will be putting up for auction.

Collins is serving a 50-month prison sentence for tax evasion and election fraud.

Prosecutors say Collins avoided paying federal income taxes for 13 years and state income taxes for 22 years.

He also won a precinct committee election in East St. Louis while not be a legal resident there.

Collins owes the IRS more than $342,000.
