Girl Hit By Gunfire in Forest Park Southeast Neighborhood

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) –  A 13-year-old girl suffered a gunshot wound when bullets started flying Thursday night in the Forest Park Southeast neighborhood.

The girl was standing outside with several others in the 4400 block of Oakland just before 7 pm.

Police say witnesses told them a man walking through the intersection of Oakland and Taylor suddenly pulled out a gun and began firing.

He then fled the scene on foot.

The girl was hit in the arm when a bullet fragment hit a nearby railing.

She was treated for minor injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
