Motorcyclist Dies after Hitting Deer

NEW MEMPHIS, Ill. (AP) — Authorities in southern Illinois’ Clinton County say a motorcyclist was killed when he hit a deer before he was run over by a vehicle on the road.

Police say 52-year-old Glen Marquard of Venedy died at the scene of the accident Sunday night near New Memphis.

Investigators say Marquard was thrown from his motorcycle after hitting and killing the deer. He then was struck by a vehicle while he was unresponsive on the road.
