High Water Closes Parks, Boat Ramps in St. Charles County

St. Charles, MO (KMOX)–High water is forcing the closure of some recreational areas in St. Charles County.  The St. Charles County Parks Department has temporarily closed the Louis H. Bangert Memorial Wildlife Area in St. Charles, as well as the public boat ramps at Hideaway Harbor near Portage Des Sioux  and Klondike near Augusta.  Klondike Park is not affected by the high water and remains open to the public this holiday weekend.

Both the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers are expected to continue to rise throughout the holiday weekend.  For the latest on park closures, the St. Charles County Parks Department has set up a closure/cancellation hotline–636-949-7475.
