Man Wanted For Assault Charged In Absentia, Still At Large

Brett Blume

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) –  St. Louis police still haven’t caught up with the man who snuck out the back door during a standoff in south city early Thursday.

Still, 28-year-old Anton Simmons has been charged in an at-large warrant with domestic assault, armed criminal action and endangering the welfare of a child.

With their weapons drawn, police crouched behind trees and their squad cars for several hours yesterday outside a home in the 3700 block of Minnesota, concerned that Simmons was holed up inside with a young boy.

They later discovered Simmons had slipped out the back and found the boy unharmed inside the home.

Anyone with information on Simmons’ whereabout should contact the St. Louis police department.
