EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (AP) __ A 42-year-old southern Illinois
woman has been sentenced to more than 12 years in prison after
pleading guilty to receiving child pornography.
Authorities say an undercover investigation revealed that Cheryl
Groth of Freeburg was sharing child pornography online.
The U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois says FBI
agents went to Groth’s home on Oct. 20, and she gave them consent
to search her computer.
Agents say they found 114 images and seven videos of child
pornography on her home computer, including images of bondage.
Groth also admitted to downloading child pornography through a file
sharing network.
Chief Judge David Herndon sentenced Groth Friday to 12 years and
seven months in prison, 12 years of supervised release and a $875
fine.
