Westbound I-64 Re-Opens at Downtown St. Louis

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – MoDOT says all lanes of westbound Interstate 64 are now open, west of the Poplar Street Bridge.

One lane of eastbound 64 remains closed from 21st street to the bridge until three Monday morning.

MoDOT says despite all lanes of westbound 64 being open on the Missouri side of the bridge, it is still recommending drivers avoid the bridge until early Monday, as some work is still being done on the bridge’s driving surfaces, and back-ups into Illinois are still a possibility.

Officials suggest using I-255, or the Eads, McKinley, or Martin Luther King bridges as alternates to get into Missouri.

Crews have been performing earthquake seismic retrofit work this weekend during the interstate closure.
