ST. LOUIS (AP) — The founder of the Brookings Institution and the man who taught tens of thousands to play guitar will be inducted into the St. Louis Walk of Fame.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Tuesday that the new inductees will be Robert S. Brookings and Mel Bay.

Brookings was president of the board of Washington University for more than three decades and oversaw development of the medical school. He will be inducted at 11:30 a.m. June 23.

Bay published his guitar instruction manual “The Orchestral Chord System for Guitar” and “Modern Guitar Method,” both of which are still in publication. He will be inducted at 11:30 a.m. June 30.

The St. Louis Walk of Fame is on Delmar Boulevard in the University City Loop.
