New Disaster Fund for Mo. Farmers

Megan Lynch

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMOX) – As you heard this week on KMOX News, some area farmers fear storms and floods will wipe out their income for the year.

Now the state Department of Agriculture has created a special disaster relief fund.  Monsanto contributed $100,000 toward the fund, while the Republic of Taiwan donated another $50,000.

The money will be used to provide for the immediate needs of farm families, as well as provide grants for repairs and clean-up.
